St Michaels Museum at St. Mary's Square is located in the heart of this historic town on what locals call ''The Green.'' It provides a fascinating look at life in St. Michaels in the 1800's.
The museum consists of three vernacular buildings moved to the Square from their original locations in St Michaels. Exhibits highlight life in the mid-19th Century. Special exhibits are presented 2-3 times during the season.
Docent led Walking tours are provided at 10:00 AM every Saturday. For information email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 410 745 0530. Currently available10 AM Saturday Morning walking tours are themed: 1) Young Frederick Douglass, a slave, in St Michaels, 2) Historic St Michaels: It's People, Places and Happenings and 3) ''St. MIchaels Museum and St. Mary's Square - the Core of St. Michaels History'. NOTE Tours 1 &2 last for 90 minutes and involve moderate walking, Tour 3 lats for 45 minutes and involves minimal walking. These tours are presented on a rotating basis.
